  • 1996 – Published “The Ambulatory Patient Group Operations Manual” published by McGraw-Hill [As pictured above]
  • 1998 – Commenced Work on APCs – Ambulatory Payment Classifications

Thus, Abbey & Abbey, Consultants, Inc., remains involved with both APCs and APGs in preparing hospitals for this new outpatient PPS.

One of the original programs was “The APC Preparedness Planning Program”. This was a ten-module approach in preparing for APCs that addressed the various facets of the coding, billing and reimbursement process along with allied concerns such as the cost report and cost management.

On a post-implementation basis, we now offer the APC Integrity Program(sm), to assist hospitals with generating proper revenues under APCs while maintaining a correct compliance posture.
